How to Make a Video

You can make a video with your video/cell phone, camera or camcorder. It’s easy!

What kind of video should I make?

First, choose a category:

1. My Friends at inlingua Vancouver
2. Fun Activity With inlingua Vancouver
3. Learning English at inlingua Vancouver
4. My Best Day at inlingua Vancouver
5. Why You Should Study English at inlingua Vancouver

If you choose a video category like “My Friends at inlingua Vancouver”, you might want to show your friends talking, laughing and having fun at an inlingua activity. On the other hand, you might just talk into your video cellphone about how you met your friends at our school.

Or, perhaps you chose the category “Why You Should Study English at inlingua Vancouver”. Maybe you could make a funny TV-style commercial. Maybe you could interview some other students and ask them why they chose to study at inlingua Vancouver.

It’s up to you! Be creative and have fun!

Here are a few tips to make your video great:

1. Pay attention to lighting. Be careful around windows or places where the light gets reflected.

2. Get in close to record sound. If you don’t have a good microphone attached to your video device, the sound may be pretty bad. Make sure you are close enough to capture sound if people are talking.

3. Change your perspective. Take videos from above, from below, upside down – however you think you can get the best video.

4. Use your imagination. This should be a fun project. Record something cool. Have fun!

5. Edit your video. Unedited videos generally don’t achieve their full potential. If possible, take a few minutes to use some video editing software on your laptop or home PC to add effects, improve sound or make the video flow better.
